Live @ The Waterfront Presents: The Decibelles-14th July

Decibelles is an all-female vocal ensemble based in the Hay-on-Wye area. Having been formed in the autumn of 2015 they have been working hard on thier blend of sound and a bank of repertoire to suit a variety of events.  Repertoire ranges from Bach through gospel, early jazz to modern pop classics. This is a free event!!

Mid Wales Dance Academy Annual Showcase- 14 Jul — 15 Jul

A cast of over 250 students present “An A to Z of dance”. The performances include ballet, tap, street and modern dance styles. More here.

In recent years Sean Snook has toured the world as a sideman for major and independent artists.  Playing to audiences from Japan, mainland Europe and America he has honed both his playing style and song writing.  Described by NME as “harmony-laden melancholic Pop” his Americana tinged approach to song writing shows a love for melody and storytelling.

Sean’s playing style encompasses everything from the more traditional genres of Rock ‘n Roll, Jazz, Funk, Blues and Country through to EDM, Indie and Hip Hop.

Following the success of ‘Do I have to wake up? / Oes Rhaid i mi Ddeffro?’ and ‘Diwrnod Hyfryd Sali Mali’ we are pleased, and very excited, to announce that Cwmni Theatr Arad Goch will be touring Wales from May – July 2018 with a brand new production ‘Na, Nel!’.

A new Welsh-language stage play by Meleri Wyn James for 6-11 year olds and their families, based on her popular children’s books ‘Na, Nel!’. The novels follows Nel, the mischievous young girl with an exciting imagination as she faces all sorts of fun and adventures. This is your opportunity to see Nel’s crazy, funny, exciting world of adventures in the theatre! More here.

The Eclectic Shed Experience are Ron Savory and Liz Crippin. Both solo singer-songwriters in the past, who have, in 2017,  now combined to inspire fresh arrangements of their most popular material.

Gaining recognition for their deeply moving, soulful, yet relaxed performances; effortlessly entertaining with harmonies and fingerstyle arrangements infused with honesty and empathy, the Eclectic Shed Experience, hailing from Carmarthenshire in South West Wales, entertain and engage audiences wherever they roam.

An Audience With Nicky Grist- 27 Jul

Nicky will be talking about his career as a World Rally Championship co-driver. His career in the World Rally Championship lasted from 1990 to 2002, competing alongside a number of drivers and has rallied for the World’s best manufacturer teams. In total Nicky has won 21 World Championship rallies with victories all over the globe with his first WRC win in the Rally Argentina in 1993 with Juha Kankkunen in a Toyota Celica.

In 1997 he joined Colin McRae with the 555 Subaru World Rally Team and the pair two won 17 rallies together, these victories shared between the Subaru and Ford rally teams. With 27 podium finishes and having gained 183 WRC points there is a fantastic depth of knowledge and a lot of great experiences and stories. Between 2002 and 2006 his professional career was slowing down after a career that lasted for 13 years, but Grist and McRae still competed together on a number of events as much for fun as well as for Skoda in the WRC.

Nicky will be bringing his Toyota Celica Rally car for display on the evening. This is an ex-factory Toyota Celica rally car that he and Juha Kannkunen won Rally Portugal in 1994. More here.
