If you love country shows, the Brecon Beacons is the place to visit. We have an action packed summer of shows happening each weekend from July – September. Here are the dates for the Country Shows.
14th July-Cwmdu Show
Founded in 1988 in the heart of the Black Mountains, Cwmdu Show is a local village show with fantastic support and a great atmosphere, all brought together with the help and enthusiasm from our local families. With children’s games and sports, vintage displays, dog shows, sheep classes, horse and pony qualifiers, its a family day out for all ages.
23rd-26th July-Royal Welsh Agricultural Show
The pinnacle event in the British agricultural calendar, the Royal Welsh Show, will be held on 23 – 26 July 2018 at the showground in Llanelwedd.
Along with an exciting four-days of livestock competitions, with entries travelling from far and wide to compete, the show has something to interest everyone through its wide range of activities including forestry, horticulture, crafts, countryside sports, shopping, food and drink and a 12-hour programme each day of exciting entertainment, attractions and displays.
4th August-Brecon County Show
The Brecon County Show is held annually on the 1st Saturday in August at The Showground, Watton, Brecon. Our Show is based around the Cattle, Sheep, Horse & Pony, Goat classes, & a Poultry Show, which attract exhibitors from all over the Country.The show also hosts a major shearing competition. We have over 200 trade exhibitors bringing you the best in British Farm Produce, the latest tractors & farm machinery and cars to anything for the garden. From clothing and jewellery to hand made cards, there is something for everyone. Combine this with vintage and modern machinery, Dog Show, Food Hall, Fun Fair – rides and stalls for children, a beer tent and much more you will be sure to have a great family day out. The Show attracts over 10,000 people to the show and with over 200 trade stands and main ring attractions there is plenty of entertainment on offer for them.
4th August- Llangadog Show

4th August Llanthony Valley and District Show
The Llanthony Valley and District Show has one of the best sites of all local shows, deep in the Llanthony Valley near Llanthony Abbey, surrounded by the Black Mountains of Monmouthshire. It sits at the heart of a thriving farming community, and it’s longstanding popularity is driven by the full support of the local community. There is something for everyone at the Llanthony Show!
18th August -Llandeilo Show
The show offers something for everyone, with classes for cattle, sheep, horses and pigs; the ever popular dog show; and fabulous entries in the produce and cookery tents. The show field certainly comes to life in the evening, with one of the best attended dances in the county, which seems to go from strength to strength each year. The show offers a real family day out, whether you want to compete, or merely take a look at the animals, watch the entertainment or browse the stalls; there really is something for everyone. 26th August-Llangynidr Show
Sennybridge Show takes place the first Saturday in September at Dicksons Field.
Featuring: Horse, Cattle, Sheep, Dog, Horticulture, Domestic and Childrens Classes, Craft Marquee, Trade Stands & Various Attractions. Find out more here.
8th September –Usk Show
On the second Saturday in September, every year since 1844, Usk Farmers’ Club have held the Usk Show to celebrate the very best of Monmouthshire farming and rural life. There is a thriving Horse show and Show Jumping competitions, as well as Goats, Poultry, Rabbits, Horticulture, Homecrafts, a Companion Dog Show, Steam Corner and Vintage Tractors. 22nd-23rd September-Llandovery Sheep Festival
Llandovery Sheep Festival celebrates droving, sheep farming & the wool industry. All weekend the town of Llandovery will be celebrating its farming routes and connection to the drovers trails of old.Highlights of the weekend will include the sheep dog trials, sheep shearing demonstrations.
