FREE live music at the Waterfront Cafe at Theatr Brycheiniog every Saturday 1pm to 3pm, a perfect event for the whole family to enjoy! This Saturday Live @ The Waterfront Presents: Steve Page. Front man for the Open Secrets Steve Page plays a solo set today. Steve writes and performs modern Americana rooted in old-time traditions. He draws heavily on bluegrass, old-time music and blues for inspiration as a songwriter and performer. He plays a mixture of guitar and banjo. He has been known to pick up and play a button-accordion. More here.
Saturday 7th-Abergavenny Shire Horse Show
The South Wales Shire Horse Show happens in Bailey Park every year and aims to improve the breed and promote the breeding of Shire Horses. If you love horses this is something you cannot miss! This year’s event will be on July 7th. Prices are Adults : £6

Saturday 7th-NHS 70th Birthday Party at the Guild Hall Brecon
70 years of our NHS: Cllr Matthew Dorrance to hold NHS 70th Birthday Party. Residents and community groups are invited to attend a birthday party celebrating the 70th anniversary of the foundation of the National Health Service. Party-goers will be gathering at The Guild Hall, Brecon between 11am and 2pm on Saturday 7th July 2018 for tea, cakes and a chance to meet neighbours.
Cllr Matthew Dorrance said: “The NHS is the Labour Party’s proudest achievement. I’m really looking forward to the community coming together to appreciate an institution that has bound us together for the last 70 years and to thank the staff past and present who look after us. “From the start of our lives, to the very end, our NHS is there for us. Let’s celebrate it.” The event will include stalls, a Tombola and a raffle with all funds raised being donated to Brecon Hospital League of Friends.

The Fan Dance is a gruelling 24km non-navigational race over two sides of Pen Y Fan, the highest mountain in the Brecon Beacons. This infamous route has long been a part of SAS (Special Air Service) and SBS (Special Boat Service) selection. More info here.
