What’s on this November?

Embrace the Autumn and get out and about in the Brecon Beacons this November! We have more firework displays lighting up the sky this evening, family shows throughout the month and magical fairs to buy your Christmas gifts. Plus there’s the diamond people exhibition to keep you entertained. Here’s our pick of the best things to do in Brecon Beacons this November. 

Diamond People Exhibition at The Andrew Lamont Gallery-Theatr Brycheiniog-3rd-19th November

The next exhibition in Theatr Brycheiniog’s Andrew Lamont Gallery will be the Diamond People exhibition, a photographic exhibition of Billie Charity’s work. The exhibition celebrates the 60th anniversary of the Brecon Beacons National Park, and some of the special people who make the Park what it is today!

This exhibition has been touring since early July and we are thrilled to have the exhibition finishing with us between Friday 3 and Sunday 19 November. Click here for more information.

Myddfai Family Fireworks 5th November from 6pm.

Adults £5, children 5-16y.o £3  under 5’s free.  BBQ & Teas & Cakes.  All ticket proceeds go to two local charities- Lluest Horse & Pony Trust & Llandovery Young Farmers Club

The Magic Porridge Pot – English Language- 8th November-6pm

The Magic Porridge Pot / Hud y Crochan Uwd

In a village on the edge of the Enormous Forest, Aggie is always trying to help her mother and the other villagers, but often ends up just making a mess. Whilst on one of her adventures Aggie is given a magical pot which makes tasty porridge, but when her mother tries her hand at it and can’t make the pot stop, the town is filled with porridge and Aggie’s help is really needed… by everyone.

Brecon with Bells On-18th November

Joanna Lumley, the Absolutely Fabulous star and advocate for the Gurkhajoanna Justice Campaign is to switch on the Christmas lights in Brecon this year! This will be the highlight of the town’s “Brecon with Bells On” Christmas Market on Saturday November 18th organised by Brecon Town Council. It is the second year the event has been staged in the town centre. Brecon with Bells On” will start at 12 noon with stalls and entertainment for the whole family in the town centre, leading up to the switching on of the town’s Christmas lights at 6 pm. Hay Festival Winter Weekend-23rd-26th November 

Hay Festival Winter Weekend

Now in its 18th year, the Winter Weekend is a smaller version of the main festival with events taking place in four venues in the town. This year’s Festival will be our biggest yet with a new 450-seater venue and extended programming. The town’s atmospheric market square will be a focus of festivities: On Friday 24 November, the Hay Christmas lights will be turned on, transforming the town into a winter wonderland brimming with festive cheer, accompanied by carol singing, readings and evening entertainment. On Saturday 25 November, Hay Food Festival celebrates all that’s good about winter cooking, with over 50 stalls showcasing the very best of local produce, from savoury to sweet. On Sunday 26 November, Hay Does Vintage transforms the square into a festive outdoor fleamarket with over 50 vintage and retro traders offering a diverse collection of items from clothes, textiles and jewellery, to furniture, collectables, and kitchenalia.

Cantref’s Santa Experience– 25th-26th November

Make Magical Memories this Christmas in our enchanting winter wonderland at Cantref! All under cover we have over 40,000 sq ft of festive fun. First staged in 1990, the Winter Fair is now firmly established as one of the most popular attractions on the British agricultural show calendar. Leading stockmen from all over the UK compete for the top accolades in the competitions running throughout the two-day event.

Away from the judging rings the very best of Welsh food producers will be showcasing their produce and Christmas shoppers can explore the hundreds of tradestands, demonstrations and exhibitions and festive atmosphere.
