Are you up for a challenge? Then why not enter into a unique night run around Usk Reservoir this Friday in aid of Usk House Hospice! This is a brand new event, and an ideal opportunity to experience night time walking or running in this remote area of the Brecon Beacons National Park, which has been designated an International Dark Sky Reserve. Equally suitable for runners or for those who wish to take a more leisurely stroll, this is for families or individuals. Don’t miss out on this unique night time event!
PLEASE NOTE: Pre-registration for this event is now closed, but DON’T PANIC, we will be taking registration on the night. Registration will open at 19:00.
- 8km route completely off-road.
- Start at the car park at Usk Reservoir GR SN834 286, postcode LD3 8YF. Follow signs from Trecastle on the A40 between Brecon and Llandovery
- Registration open from 19:00
- Participants to start the route between 19:45 and 20:15
This is not a race and participants can complete the route at their own pace. Experienced/faster runners may wish to complete the route twice; this will be allowed subject to a cut off time. Walkers are expected to complete the course in approximately 2 hours.
Families welcome; under 16’s must be accompanied by a responsible adult, and parental consent must be given.
Dogs welcome on short leads, provided their owners tidy up after them!
Certificates will be issued to all finishers.
A kit list will be issued following registration.
Entry fee is only £20 per person (£5 for under 16’s). Participants are also asked to gain sponsorship to support the vital work of St David’s Hospice Care in the local community.
