We warmly invite you to hire a canoe and discover the beauty of the River Wye. The Wye is by far one of the most beautiful rivers in the British Isles and one of the few you can navigate by canoe, without restriction, for well over 100 miles. want to canoe? offer you the chance to embark on a relaxing river adventure from several different points along the way, with an array of different routes to choose from, all with their own unique sights, sounds and smells.

Canoe hire is available 7 days a week from April to October or why not get more interactive on a GUIDED ADVENTURE SESSION – On selected days during the holidays, booking essential!unnamed (2)

Having our team as your Guides gives you the benefit of being able to learn basic canoe-skills, play games and make the most out of the new skills you’ve learnt, also take in the scenery and wildlife more easily as you have a guide showing you what to look out for and you are not simply concentrating on keeping the canoe in a straight line as you’ve got some basic technique from the outset!

If you’ve canoed before they can also help you expand upon and work on technique, they adapt easily to the needs of the group. The instructors paddle their own canoes so they can wizz about amongst the group, you then choose the boat format that suits your group on the day (we have single, tandem and rafted options).  Here’s a link to our gallery which includes some pics from some of their Guided Trips to give you an idea!http://www.canoehire.co.uk/gallery.php These sessions are the equivalent of British Canoeing 1* Qualification so everyone receives a certificate at the end of the trip!

Along your journey, you can expect to see a number of spectacular and fascinating characters in their natural habitats, including kingfishers, herons, cormorants, swans and otters – all from the prime viewpoint of your canoe.

This peaceful and ever-changing setting is the ideal place to wile away a few hours, spend a day or even a week. Furthermore, what better way to get a bit of aerobic and cardiovascular exercise than canoeing the Wye? Burning calories has never been so relaxing!

Why not combine your adventures on the river with a leisurely stroll around the bookshops, markets and historic sights in our friendly and vibrant market town of Hay on Wye.  It’s only five minutes walk over the bridge to town so make a day of it or even stay over! Find our town guide here.
