Saturday 3rd-Sunday 18th September- Wales Valleys Walking Festival
The 12th Annual Wales Valleys Walking Festival is taking place from 3rd – 18th September 2016. The festival provides walks for everyone right across the South Wales Valleys. Catering for all abilities, from challenging all day treks, to easier strolls and special interest walks.
– 6th September – Blaenavon – Industrial Town to Nature Reserve – Easy
– 7th September – Moorland, Manufacturing and Mining – Moderate to Strenuous
– 15th September – Industrial Pathways – Llanfoist to Govilon Circular Walk – Easy to Strenuous – The strenuous section is optional.
Booking is essential, so please pre-book on your walks, to avoid disappointment.

Saturday September 3rd-Sennybridge Show
The agricultural show, known as The Sennybridge Show, run by the Devynock Agricultural Society is a one day event and is held on the first Saturday in September each year. Horse, sheep and cattle classes are held during the day, including an expanding dog show.
Craft, Domestic and Horticulture tents together with Trade stands, Members tent and Bar surround the ring giving the show an intimate and friendly atmosphere.
Show attractions including bands, various displays competitions and an evening BBQ combine to make our show well worth a visit and a good day out.
Sunday September 4th-Classics at the Country Park
Wednesday September 7th-Builth Cycling Sportive
Elite cyclists including Rio 2016 Olympic medal winners Sir Bradley Wiggins, Owain Doull and Mark Cavendish will be cycling through the green heart of Mid Wales as they make their way to the finish line at The Royal Welsh Agricultural Society on Wednesday 7
There are a number of activities taking place the day of the race at the showground for everyone to enjoy. But if you can’t get to the showground, why not take to the streets and cheers the riders on as they make their way through the county.

Saturday September 10th-Monmouthshire and Brecon Canalathon 2016
Saturday 17th-Sunday 18th September- Safety on the Hills/ Bronze NNAS Navigation Course
This 2 day course is ideal for beginners and for refreshing dormant skills; you’ll learn useful navigation and mountain safety techniques. This NNAS accredited course is run by Manzoku, a local company based in the Brecon Beacons National Park.

Saturday 17th-Sunday 18th September-Abergavenny Food Festival
Why not check out one the country’s top food festivals this year.The event has been called ‘The Glastonbury of Food Festivals’ (Observer) and is renowned for its fantastic atmosphere and Welsh hospitality. The extensive markets spill into the streets and lanes, offering a huge variety of produce – from pepper plants to Welsh pancakes – featuring the best producers from Wales, the Marches, and much further afield. Saturday 24th September- Llandovery Sheep Festival
Llandovery Sheep Festival celebrates droving, sheep farming & the wool industry. All weekend the town of Llandovery will be celebrating its farming routes and connection to the drovers trails of old.
Highlights of the weekend include the fantastic sheep race, sheep dog trials & sheep shearing demonstrations amongst other great sheep-related fun. There will be competitions and music throughout.
