Its a busy weekend in Hay On Wye, with Hay Craft Festival at the Castle, Hay on Wye Summer Food Festival and Hay does vintage all taking place.
Welcome back to The Big Skill’ annual event at Hay Castle!
This crafts/arts/music/food festival takes place in the Castle grounds, with the beautiful backdrop of the building behind
There will be craft stalls, workshops, story-telling, face-painting, street food and folk musicians, buskers and Hay Community Choir, for two days of rural skills fun and learning – free entry too! THRILLED to have Puppet Soup performing their first showing of their new show, Jack and the Beanstalk, live in the grounds of the castle!
Another exciting attraction will be Crimson Moon Medieval Tavern – a fully functioning bar with ciders, wines, 20 types of mead… and in the evening, they have mulled ciders too! They will be in character throughout the weekend!
Also, the scrumptious Hay Food Festival will be running on the Saturday in/around the Butter Market at the foot of the castle grounds, and on Sunday, the wonderful Hay Does Vintage will be based there too! Hay food Festival is a one-day gourmet gathering, well worth a visit. It’s limited to a relatively small number of local food, cider and whisky producers to ensure the quality is the best, and there’s entertainment from local brass bands, male voice choirs and folk musicians. As it’s an outdoor event, the atmosphere is particularly festive in good weather. The venue is Hay’s Memorial Car Park, in the middle of town. Hay Does Vintage– The Vintage Wonder Town’ will see the Market Square and surrounding venues filled with over 50 vintage and retro traders. Open 10.30am till 4pm.
