About Bear Grylls
Bear Grylls has become known around the world as one of the most recognized faces of survival and outdoor adventure. His journey to this acclaim started in the UK, where his late father taught him to climb and sail. Trained from a young age in martial arts, Bear went on to spend three years as a soldier in the British Special Forces, serving with 21 SAS. It was here that he perfected many of the skills that his fans all over the world enjoy watching him pit against mother-nature.

His TV show Man Vs Wild and Born Survivor became one of the most watched programmes on the planet with an estimated audience of 1.2 billion. Emmy nominated, the show ran for seven high octane seasons. He then progressed to US Network TV, hosting the hit adventure show ‘Running Wild’ on NBC, where he takes some of the world’s best known movie stars on incredible adventures. Most recently US President Barrack Obama asked to appear on the show for a worldwide Running Wild Special.

Bear also produces and hosts the BAFTA winning ‘The Island with Bear Grylls’ on Channel 4, which has sold as a format all around the world. Bear also owns and hosts ITV’s ‘Mission Survive with Bear Grylls’, for ITV, Bear Grylls Survival School for CITV, and a hit prime time Chinese adventure show called Survivor Games for Dragon TV. Why choose the Brecon Beacons?
Close to Pen y Fan (The highest mountain in South Wales) this area of woodland, fast rivers, gorges and rock faces make it the ideal spot for an Academy. The terrain is super tough with water obstacles and high difficult ground being a key part of the challenge. It would in fact be the perfect preparation for participants who were considering any of the Bear Grylls Extreme 5 day Survival Courses from The Highlands in Scotland, to the USA or Victoria Falls – Africa!

Bears team of highly trained experts will facilitate learning, offer advice and guide participants through this taster survival experience compressed into a 24 hour course. Learn to forage, identify animal runs and lay traps, skin and gut, navigate by day and night, build emergency shelters, stalk, protect yourself in the wild from attack,, tie knots and make rope harnesses in order to safely cross difficult terrain such as rivers, lakes and steep ground by any means.

This is not a military boot camp and its much, much more than a bush craft course. This is an exclusive course where places are limited to up to 14 participants who must be physically fit and active. From hour one you will be lead into the wilderness and during the course you will receive limited food and water. You will then have to forage for anything else that may supplement your diet and use your skills to self rescue within the 24hrs!

These are just some of the many activities you may partake in during the ’24 Hour Family Survival Course’ and the 24 Hour Adult Survival Course, with the Bear Grylls Survival Academy.

•Dynamic river runs and/or lake crossings
•Emergency shelter builds
•Navigate harsh terrain by day and night
•Rope skills – crossing difficult terrain
•Survival knife skills and fire lighting
•Foraging for food, setting snares & traps
•Dynamic Self Rescue Techniques

For the family: 24 hour Family Survival Course
“As a father of three young boys I love sharing my survival techniques and going on family adventures together. It is not only exciting and fun but teaches them useful life and outdoor skills and what it really means to be able to look after yourself when the chips are down. So it is with great pride that we can now launch our 24 Hour Family Course as a great opportunity for parents to share these experiences with their children together.” says Bear Grylls

For the Adults: 24 hour Adults Survival Course
‘Some of my toughest times have lasted for less than 24 hours yet have had the greatest impact on me. And that’s the goal on the 24 hour course: push yourself and learn life-saving skills and attitudes such as resourcefulness and calm under pressure. It’s intense but has proved itself so rewarding’ says Bear Grylls.

Have you got what it takes to survive for 24 hours until rescue!
