1. Tim Jarvis Safe Return Doubtful: Endurance Retraced 5th February.
In March 2013, Tim Jarvis returned from Antarctica where he led a team of six men to successfully retrace the legendary polar explorer Sir Ernest Shackleton’s 1916 southern voyage of survival. Using the same rudimentary equipment, period clothing, and technology as Shackleton, the team sailed a replica James Caird life boat from Elephant Island to South Georgia, before climbing over its mountainous interior. This is the first time that anybody has been able to authentically recreate the Endurance expedition, regarded by many as the greatest survival journey of all time. Book your tickets here.
2. Andy KirkPatrick – Cold Mountain 19th February
A unique story teller and comedian – described as the ‘Ranulph Fiennes of British Climbing’ by BBC Radio 4’s Today programme – Andy climbs in some of the most inhospitable places on earth, from Greenland to Alaska, Patagonia to Antarctica. In this new tour, he takes up where his last finished, arriving in Antarctica dreaming of climbing the ‘hardest mountain in the world’, before further cold adventures in Alaska, Norway and Patagonia. As with all of Andy’s shows, Cold Mountain is a mash up of thoughts and experiences, good times and bad, laughter and maybe tears, but certainly out of this world. Book your tickets here.
