Wales’ number one event for smallholding, gardening and sustainable living, the Royal Welsh Spring Festival, is set to host a brand new Trail Running Festival at its stunning Showground in the heart of Mid-Wales this weekend, Sunday 17 May.
The Royal Welsh Trail Running Festival brings a half-marathon, 10k and 3k family trail races to the Royal Welsh Showground in Llanelwedd, Powys.
The picturesque half marathon and 10k races, run over one and two laps respectively, will take place with all the facilities expected of a top-class event with spectator areas, drink stations and full medical support.
A 3k family fun run takes in the 242m climb to Drws Yr Coed house, where the woodland loop is followed by a re-trace to the finish line and for young children there is a toddler challenge along a flat route around the Showground.
There will also be a come-and-try pentathlon alongside the series of races where participants of all ages can try long jump, shot, step hurdles, speed bounce and sprint.
