February half-term 2015: what’s on

It’s not too early to start thinking about half-term, and we’re more excited than ever as this year we have Pancake Day in the mix (!) too…

Here’s what’s on in the Brecon Beacons…

National Botanical Garden of Wales are going flat out for pancakes right though the half-term with pancake races and cooking demos plus lots of family fun as well.

17 Feb – Pancake Day – Things can only get batter! Pancake fun and games plus incredible crepe on the menu in Seasons restaurant

22 Feb – Seed Sunday – They came, they saw, they brought and swapped seeds. Entry: £8.50 adults, £4.50 children.

 21st Feb – Traditional Hedge Laying Course for Beginners 
A course for complete beginners to traditional hedge-laying and those seeking to add to woodland management or landscape gardening skills, and a great present for garden lovers and rural skill enthusiasts. £65.00.

Monday 16th – Saturday 21st of February – Learn to Draw at Chapel Cottage Studio who will be holding the popular “Learn to Draw” intensive 6 day course tutored by Jantien Powell. Suitable for complete beginners as well as those looking to improve on their skills, this course teaches the five basic principles for realistic drawing.  £250 pp includes refreshments and a complimentary home made lunch each day. 

Screen Shot 2015-01-22 at 17.58.0718th Feb – Wild Wednesday at Old Railway Line – Crafty youngsters from Powys and Herefordshire are invited to visit a local garden centre to enjoy a fun craft workshop this half term school break. The workshop will give children the opportunity to decorate a bird nest box and make a suet treat to take home and put in the garden. There will also be a fun bird hunt around the plant area and other wildlife themed craft activities. £3.00 per child with all materials.IMG_2597How about a visit to Goytre Wharf? So much  to do boating, fishing, walking onsite café and more!
