Guide to the Hay Festival Winter Weekend

We had such a great time at The Hay Festival in May we’re still talking about it…

But don’t worry as it’s back again! Over three days next weekend Hay-on-Wye will come alive with music, comedy, literature, art and more…

There are still tickets left, but be quick! Here’s a few of the highlights…

Friday 28th November

8pm – Zoophonium – Electro Swing Trio at The Hay Castle

Live music of stomping Swing beats, bouncing bass and Charleston breaks. £8.00 in advance or £10.00 on the door. 

10am-11.30am – Romina Chiappa, Alex Gooch and Liam Burgess

An artisan baker, a chocolatier and Welsh-Italian teach their tricks of the trade to make the best bread and pasta you’ve ever tasted. £7.00.

Saturday 29th November 

12pm – Laura Bates talks to Francine Stock

The founder of the Everyday Sexism Project talks equality and women’s rights in a  modern society. £7.00.

3pm – Graham Swift talks to Peter Florence

With a new anthology that charts an intimate human geography with a touch of comedy, Swift discusses his work. £6.00. 

4.30 pm – Tim Telling and Sam Barcroft

The editor of satirical website The Daily Mash discusses the boundaries (or lack thereof) of their media and its relentless appetite for a good story.  £5.00.

8pm – Danny Ward

Award-winning comedian takes to the stage discussing his identity crisis and more…£7.00.

Sunday 3oth November

11am – Alex Milway

In an interactive drawing workshop for 7-10 year olds, imaginations can run wild with the children’s crime author. £4.00. 

12.30pm – Wearable Vintage Fashion 

Come and join a journey of fashion covering the 1920s to the 1980s with glitz and glamour. £5.00.

2pm – Great British Sweets

Local author, Adele Nozedar, discusses our national love affair with confectionary from the past to the present day, and how to make them at home! £5.00.

8pm – Rozi Plan 

The acoustic tunes of this singer-songwriter closes the festival with style. £8.00.
