Sat 5 January 09.30 – 12.30: Annual Winter Bird Walk at Llangors Lake… entertaining and informative walk to look at the hundreds of winter wildfowl and other birds. Park and meet at Ty Mawr Farm (GR SO 124260) for a 2-3 hour walk, followed by soup and roll. Suggested donation £3. Organised by Brecknock Wildlife Trust.

Circular wildlife walk of about 4 miles by the Usk and Canal, chiefly for birds such as Goosanders, Dippers and Siskins. Start and finish at Theatr Brycheiniog car park (GR SO 046283). Suitable winter clothing and footwear, some parts could be muddy. Suggested donation £3. Organised by Brecknock Wildlife Trust.

1st to 10th March 2013 – Crickhowell Walking Festival
The Crickhowell Walking Festival takes place around the beginning of March each year and lasts nine days. It consists of a number of guided walks of various grades, all led by local experienced guides. There is something for every level of walker, whether you are happy trekking all day across the tops of the Black Mountains and Brecon Beacons or would rather keep to paths and the lower slopes.
