On day seven of the Brecon Beacons Advent Calendar, we thought it was time to start thinking about doing some Christmas shopping. So we’d like to suggest a trip to Hay-on-Wye!

The Lion Street Gallery in Hay on Wye offers a stunning collection of original art in a whole range of formats. If you are looking for an inspired gift then they certainly have a unique collection of contemporary Welsh art on display to choose from. The gallery has some of the finest jewellery, sculptures and paintings on offer in the Brecon Beacons.
From December an exhibition will be on, called ‘the Beacons’ it showcases Beth Fletcher’s latest work.
Quirkiest Book Shop
Murder and Mayhem, Lion Street. Walk or stalk into the world of Detective Fiction, True Crime and Horror. The Baskerville Hound, Christie & Poe welcome you to the most bizarre and outrageously decorated bookshop in Hay-on-Wye. They’re always interested in buying green Penguin paperbacks.
