Advent Calendar Day 2

1 – Learn how to Horse Ride…
Rural Wales is one of the most appealing places to ride a horse.
So if you want to see your children outside more often, build up their confidence and find them a fun new hobby this is the perfect gift!

How about persuading them to take up horse riding lessons.  It’s a fun learning experience and children can gain so much confidence from it.
Tregoyd Riding Centre are offering a special package: Book a block of 10 half-hour lessons and receive two free! Adults – £190.00 & Children – £150.00.

2 – Teach your dog some new tricks…
Do you have a dog that needs to be controlled a bit better or doesn’t respond so well to your commands? Brecon Beacons Dog Training is a modern dog training service with small classes held in Trallong and Llanfrynach near Brecon.  This is a great opportunity to help someone build their bond with a four-legged pet.

3 – Specialist bike training …

Do you know someone who is an enthusiastic cyclist and spends a lot of their past time on their bicycle?  Drover Cycles who are based in Hay-on-Wye, offer workshops to help people improve their cycling technique.  Vistors can learn to convert every possible watt of power into speed in the last kilometer of a road race, grovelling up a technical mountain-side or simply riding their bike into town for the day.  If a bike doesn’t fit the person right than they are at best not making the most of it and, at worst potentially lining yourself up for an injury.

4 – Learn how to survive in the wild…
It’s every boys dream to build a den and learn how to survive in the wild.  So if your are children spending too much time staring at a screen or addicted to their computer games this is the perfect gift for them. Survival and bushcraft courses vary depending on ages and levels.  A typical day out in the wild learning about wild foods and survival techniques starts at £80 per person.  Two excellent activity providers are Mountain and River Activities  and Outdoors@Hay.
