Day One of the Brecon Beacons Advent Calendar: Talgarth’s Christmas Festive Fun.

Welcome, Croeso, to the 2012 Brecon Beacons Advent Calendar…

Today we launch our advent calendar to celebrate Talgarth at Christmas:

Talgarth‘s Christmas Festive Fun TODAY! Saturday 1st December. At 10am today, the annual Christmas Fayre will open for business, and amongst the wide range of stalls selling local, seasonal food and drink, arts and crafts will be something for everyone.

What’s on?

The newly formed Community Choir will be singing, then Father Christmas will visit with gifts for all those good little girls and boys.  The grand finale of the day will be the turning on of the Christmas lights, at 6pm.  You can then head off to The Bakers’ Table for an authentic wood fired pizza.

Some shopping suggestions for the family…

Harry Chapman’s Great Christmas Gifts

Whilst you are at the Fayre, why not pop into the Town Hall and visit Harry Chapman, wood turner for a hand made chopping board for your Dad.  You can get delicious local cheeses and farmhouse butter to complete the gift from Trecastle Eggs.  Your Mum would love to have her Christmas day helped out with a delicious Christmas pudding and cake from Gaynor Price, or you could pop in to the Primrose Pharmacy and treat her to some lovely perfume.

Your Grandparents would really enjoy some of Pip’s delicious farmhouse cider, made in the Golden Valley.  Choose from Dry, Medium or Sweet or get a gift pack containing all three!  Great value and a sure way to celebrate the big day.

Brothers and sisters can be hard to buy for, but there are lots of brilliant ideas in True Box; what about a remote controlled helicopter for him and if she enjoys baking there are lots of great gadgets to choose from.

Give your friends a treat with a voucher for The Bakers’ Table at the Mill – they can enjoy morning coffee and cake, lunch, or put it towards one of the guest chef or pizza and flix nights.  They start at £10, great value!
