Under The Washing Line – a response to Dylan Thomas’ Under Milk Wood

THE upstairs gallery at The Hours Café & Bookshop in Brecon has been transformed by Brecon artist, Karin Mear into a space evoking the ambience of  Dylan Thomas’ play Under Milk Wood.

Her exhibition, titled ‘Under The Washing Line’ (after a line in the play) shows paintings and artwork created from found objects all of which add to the atmosphere.

Visitors to the exhibition can also listen to a soundscape, specially created by Nigel Evans, which echoes the sounds of a small town such as Llareggub from Under Milk Wood.

The exhibition runs until 2nd December

Opening times Tuesday – Saturday, 10am – 5pm

The Hours Café & Bookshop
