Just seen some photos from Emma of Danyfan who went up Pen-y-Fan yesterday and took some spectacular shots, wasn’t the weather gorgeous? It reminded me of the post she did for us almost a year ago on Brecon Beacons Four Peaks from Danyfan. Thought it was a perfect time to repost the walk and we hope you all enjoy.

This week’s walking Wednesday post is from Stevie and Emma who have recently opened Danyfan – Brecon, a boutique bed and breakfast just outside Brecon in Cwmgwdi. Guests at Danyfan can begin the walk from the house after a hearty breakfast and return to tea and homemade cakes, but otherwise you can start from the Cwmgwdi Camp car park.

Four Peaks from Danyfan

Length: 11.5 miles
Ascent: 3,000 feet/ 900 metres
Grade: Moderate
Start: OS grid reference SO 026262 

This is a moderate but long circular walk of around five hours duration that takes in all four majestic peaks of the Brecon Beacons. Excellent views along the main ridge of the Beacons, and north to the Usk valley. The walk begins and ends with sections along paved lanes, and on the hills the going is generally along good and well defined paths. Boots are recommended.
