Cairns in the four areas of the Brecon Beacons National Park

Cairns of the four areas of the Brecon Beacons National Park.

Cairns are found all over the world, often in the Brecon Beacons you’ll find them on mountain tops of popular trails.

The hills of the Brecon Beacons National Park are dotted with rocks, boulders, bumps and mounds.  It’s not always easy to tell which of these are natural formations and which were put there by man for some special purpose, many centuries ago.  For more information click here.

So here’s a challenge….

There are four areas of the Brecon Beacons National Park: The Black Mountains, Central Beacons, Black Mountain and Fforest Fawr.

Each picture is from one of the areas, in the comment box below can you name which area you’ll find the picture.  Images have been kindly supplied by Kevin Walker Mountain Activities.
