Day Twelve of the Brecon Beacons Advent Calendar

Day Twelve of the Brecon Beacons Advent Calendar is a poem.

Will it be another white Christmas? Well, we’d like it to be one, as the peaks of the Brecon Beacons are a very scenic sight, when the mountains are beautifully glazed over.  Here is a poem by local poet and bookseller, Alexis Dimyan owner of  Dimyan books, who was inspired by the snow last year.  You can also follow Alexis on Facebook & Twitter.

Christmas Scene

This land so fine, covered in snow;
a place that ensures thoughts do flow
when one walks upon hallowed earth,
spirits sing with the wine of mirth.

The cows, the sheep, the birds all dance
at Yuletide, in a holy trance;
such scenes lift up the weary heart
while tales pour forth before the hearth.

Pen-y-fan, Corn du, hills of glee,
these mountains are a place to be;
sweet Beacons teem with joyous beams,
beneath the stars that hold our dreams.
