Show your support to Brecon Beacons film…

We have just received the following note from Owen Sheers.  Please support this amazing film and see it this weekend.  It’s showing from 25th November in Abergavenny, Monmouth, Cardiff, Port Talbot, Newport, Nantgarw, London, Sheffield and Cambridge.  It will be shown nationwide, check the poster above and your local cinema listings.  Once you have seen the film, do post your views in the comments section below, we would love to hear what you think.

Dear all,

Please find attached an e-flyer (above) for the film adaptation of my novel RESISTANCE. The filmmakers have worked incredibly hard with a very small budget to make a beautiful, intelligent film. If you think you know someone in the UK who might like to see it then please do forward this flyer and, if possible, encourage them to go and see the film over the opening weekend of November 25th, 26th, 27th. Without a good opening weekend, regardless of positive reviews, it can be all too easy for small independent films like this to slip out of sight before anyone even knows they’re there.

Many thanks, and if you do see the film, I hope you enjoy it.

best wishes,

  1. Zoe says:

Have been reading the book – 50 pages to go – can’t wait till this evening so I can finish it. Will definitely be going to see this. It’s not on the flyer but looks like my favourite cinema – the Coliseum in Brecon will also be showing Resistance

  2. Karen Hardwick says:

Loved the book and was in the Llanthony valley when filming taking place – friends of mine were extras – but I don’t live in Wales full time. Will it be shown in England, and specifically Birmingham?

    • We’ve spoken to the film promoters and they have advised us to look at this site to see exactly where it is filming.. Hope it helps. If it isn’t playing at a cinema near year, ask them to show it!
