BRECON ARTS FESTIVAL
22ND-30TH OCT 2011
Wondering what to do over the half term break? Look no further than Brecon as there will be a huge variety of workshops, exhibitions and fun throughout the week, all within the town centre and aimed across all ages.
Workshops include such diverse activities as stained glass making, paper mosaic pictures, percussion, mask making, life drawing, poetry and cartoons. There will also be loads of demonstrations and exhibitions and open studios to visit, plus a photomarathon happening throughout the town on the opening Saturday.
Artbeat Brecon, who have co-ordinated the week’s events with the support of the Brecon Beacons National Park Authority’s Collabor8 project, are also proud to be presenting the Vagabondi Puppet Theatre who are staging A Pirate’s Life for me, a puppet-making workshop with treasure hunt extraordinaire followed by a pirate puppet show.
There are a huge amount of interactive events, and also, other town traders have joined in by displaying artwork in their windows as part of the festival, and there will also be fun in the evenings with two nights of poetry & limericks, and a special music night at the Boar’s Head.
For all the event and exhibition listings, please pick up a free guide from around town (or from Oh!, 7 The Struet if unavailable elsewhere) or visit www.artbeatbrecon.co.uk for a downloadable copy.
