Brecon Brewing Company launching new beers at Felin Fach Griffin

The Felin Fach Griffin near Brecon is proud to host the launch of local brewer, Brecon Brewing, with a tasting dinner on 11th November.  Brecon Brewing was established in September 2011 by Buster Grant, one of Wales’ best-known brewers and formerly Head Brewer at The Breconshire Brewery.

The evening will begin with drinks at the bar and a brief introduction from Buster introducing his beers. This will be followed by a sit down supper of four courses carefully matched to Brecon Brewing’s beers: Pale Beacons; Gold Beacons; Bright Beacons; and Wandering Beacons. It will be the first time that all the beers are available in one place.

The menu will be:

Jerusalem artichoke veloute with smoked haddock matched to Bright Beacons

Crispy mackerel with braised peas and polenta chips matched to Pale Beacons

Stuffed loin of pork barley in beer and November vegetables matched to Gold Beacons

Iced Ty Gwyn cider

Cenarth brie with quince and medlars, bread and biscuits matched to Wandering Beacons

Edmund Inkin, joint owner of The Felin Fach Griffin, says: “Brewing in our part of the world is undergoing a renaissance and stocking great ale from small, local brewers is one of the biggest steps we have made in recent years.  The addition of Brecon Brewing to the market is excellent news, only improved by their recruitment of Buster Grant as their Head Brewer.”

Buster Grant, head brewer at Brecon Brewing said: “It is fantastic to be working with Julie and the team at The Felin Fach Griffin, it is a wonderful pub with great staff and really exciting food and drinks.”

The evening will be relaxed and informal and at £35 per head, affordable.  For further information and to book call The Felin Fach Griffin on: 01874 620111
